• Turn off the power

• Remove wiring

The existing flex will be removed from the light so it is no longer installed. This will mean removing the neutral and the live wire from the ceiling rose.
• Remove the old Wall Light

• Measure and cut wires
For a ceiling mounted Wall Light , you’ll want to measure how low it will hang before installation. Now you’ll need to cut and strip the wires.
• Connect wires
Connect the ceiling and fixture wires: black wire to black wire and white wire to white wire.

Push the wires into the electrical box and follow the Wall Light instructions for assembly.
• Turn on electricity

If you are moving a Wall Light you can start by isolating the circuit, and double-checking it is dead. Then unscrew the rose cover. When you have identified the type of wiring, disconnect the flex and feed cable.
With junction-box wiring
• Unscrew the rose base from the ceiling and then make sure to push the cable back through. Above the ceiling, you must connect the cable to a three-terminal junction box. Then run a length of 1.5mm² two-core-and-earth cable from the new light rose.
• Connect the brown core to the live terminal, the blue must be connected to the neutral terminal and the earth (insulated with green and yellow sleeving) to the earth terminal.
With loop-in wiring
• Unscrew the rose base from the ceiling and then push the cables back through. Mount a four-terminal junction box above the original Wall Light position.
• Connect the live, neutral and earth cores of the main circuit cable(s) to three separate terminals. Then connect the brown core of the switch cable to the circuit lives, the earth core to the circuit earths and the blue core to the fourth (unused) terminal.
