  • Turn off the power
  • Remove the screws from the switch panel

  • Remove the dimmer switch from the box
  • Attach the new standard switch
  • Push the new switch into the switch box

Likewise, a 3-way dimmer can easily replace a regular 3-way switch. The dimmer element is simply a part of the switch and does not require any additional wiring.

Switches and sockets for lighting and other outlets should therefore be 450 – 1,200mm above the finished floor level. When it comes to light switch height, 450mm will most likely be a little too low, so you may want to aim for 900-1,200mm above the floor level. Accessibility should also be considered for when you are installing switches in corners. They should be installed at least 350mm away from the corner.
