Protect Your Belongings during the house rewiring

In houses that are occupied we start the house rewiring process by dust sheeting and/or plastic covers to protect the remaining furniture, carpets, or fixtures from dust resulted during the full house rewiring process.

Isolate the supply before house rewire starts

When doing a full house rewiring it is imperative to isolate the original electrical supply to ensure all the old electrics and deteriorating wires are safe to work on. First fix for house rewiring

The first fix step involves installation of new wires, cables, and fitting the new back boxes when doing a full house rewiring. Many clients prefer to have the cables buried within their walls. To be able to do this we will use a chasing machine that will cut through the wall.

Floorboards could be lifted, and walls may be channelled to incorporate the new wiring during the house rewiring process. The cables will have to be run from the distribution board to every room. This will help with connecting the appropriate back boxes for switches, sockets, and any other light fittings.

The electrician will also install the earthing and bonding to ensure safety of the new electrical system.

Plastering after full house rewiring

When the first fix has been fully completed, the walls and ceilings will be plastered and we will fill in any channels or holes created during the house rewire job.

Second fix for house rewiring

The second fix involves the installing of the final connections sockets, switches, and any light fittings, on to back boxes that have been installed during the first fix of house wiring.

During the house rewiring the electrician will install the distribution and will connect all the circuits.

Testing and certification after the house wiring done

The electrician will test your new electrical whole house rewire system. He will make sure that it functions properly and safely. The electrician will complete an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR).

The duration of a rewiring project may vary depending on the size and complexity of the property, but it normally takes between 2 and 3 days for a mid-sized home.
